A decade after the introduction of EMV-enabled credit and debit cards (a.k.a. chip cards) in Europe, these highly secure cards found their way to the U.S. Not surprisingly, with this new payment technology came some confusion—for both merchants and consumers. Discover Network made a firm commitment to take a leadership role in educating the market about the new chip card payment process—and the many benefits for retailers and shoppers.
To encourage adoption and acceptance of EMV cards, we worked with Discover Network to create a comprehensive EMV migration kit, including tactics that spoke directly to three key audiences: merchants, employees, and cardholders. This suite of brand marketing clearly articulated the importance of chip card migration and positioned Discover Network as a trusted partner that is prepared to make the new payment process as seamless as possible.
